Energy Efficiency Standards Information
A copy of the ANSI/APSP/ICC-15 2011 American National Standard for Residential Swimming Pool and Spa Energy Efficiency is available for purchase as a downloadable PDF or in a printed version. This standard covers energy efficiency requirements for permanently installed residential aboveground/on-ground and in-ground swimming pools and in-ground spas operated by the property owner and used for bathing. This standard is intended to cover certain aspects of the swimming pool filtration-system design; equipment, including pool and spa heaters; installation; and operational capabilities, for the purpose of consuming less energy while maintaining water quality and temperature. Arizona Standards
Energy efficiency standards went into effect in Arizona on January 1, 2012. The standard applies only to the sale and installation of new residential pool pumps and pool pump motors. It will not affect homeowners with currently healthy single speed pumps. Details of the law can be found in the Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 44, Chapter 9, Article 19, Section 44-1375. Simply go to

Florida Standards
The most recent revision to the Florida Energy Efficiency Standards is HB0849, last revised in 2011. It can be found at
http://www.myfloridahouse.gov.Just click on the Documents link and then select the tab on the right hand side of the page called “Find A Bill”. Choose #849 in the House of Representatives for legislative session 2011.
